Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year 2020
We from Refugio Alto Mijares hope you had a good time and that you will start the year on the right foot.
No fear of being cold
We’ve set up a winter room for you. Table, chairs, heating and games
make long winter evenings comfortable or rainy days bearable.
Clean thing
This summer we have built a surfer shower for you! It is certainly the
shower with the best view in the whole valley!
Respect for breeding birds
At the moment birds breed in our climbing area. We have marked the affected routes. Please do not climb there at the moment.
If you find an inhabited nest in a route, let us know so that we can mark the route.
Wear your helmet!
What about your safety at the foot of the wall? Are you wearing a helmet? Do you make sure your children wear helmets? Do you regularly check if the children are outside the rockfall zone?
Stones can also fall out of frequently climbed routes. Last week this stone fell out of a route in Central Park from a height of about 4m. 1m next to the one belaying – no chance to react. That was luck… We’ve seen children play there.
Protect yourself and your family – be careful and wear a helmet.
Broader entrance to the Refugio
Now it is much easier to drive down the last curve to the Refugio. We widened and flattened the curve on both sides. Good ride!
P.S. Do not worry, the [wpcragGuideLink id=’587185725′] in the [wpcragGuideLink id=’587185191′] remains as it is…
New routes nearby
The development of the sectors around the Refugio continues. As already posted in Just a few quick climbs in the evening we wanted to open new routes nearby. Read more “New routes nearby”
Just a few quick climbs in the evening
We have to admit, the climbing routes in the [wpcragGuideLink id = ‘190488567’] are beautiful, but we wish some approaches were shorter. So we went looking for climbable rock right around the Refugio – and found it. Read more “Just a few quick climbs in the evening”
We are open!
Last week, the week of Easter, it finally happened – the first guests stayed overnight in their buses. The place was packed, the mood was good, the locals want to come back soon. Climbers from further away, like Madrid and the Basque region, will we meet again on the next bridging day?
The locally brewed beer from Olba was very tasty. We will build up stocks. Recommend us, stay with us and enjoy beautiful climbing days in the Alto Mijares!
We look froward to meeting you!
