We have to admit, the climbing routes in the Crag Alto Mijares are beautiful, but we wish some approaches were shorter. So we went looking for climbable rock right around the Refugio – and found it. Compared to the eye-catching walls of the Crag Hoz del Mijares and Crag Casucho they are small blocks, but the rock is also very good here. Just below the Refugio, just a minute away, you’ll find Sector Pirámide del Refugio .

We cleaned and set up the sector together with friends in early May 2017. A cozy wall foot and shadow until afternoon are attractive, especially for families. The short project in the middle of the wall is likely to attract also the more ambitious climbers.

We found also some other blocks in the area, so the number of routes “just around the corner” will increase soon. We will keep you informed.
